Akasha breaks top 500 and wins her 1st pro title of her career in Zephyr Hills, Florida!

Akasha Urhobo has had a phenomenal start to the year!

She kicked off her season by partnering with Nike for her on-court gear and renewing her long-term deal with Babolat.

On the court, she has been on fire, reaching her first quarterfinals in a W25 tournament in Wesley Chapel, followed by a semifinal appearance in a W25 tournament in Jackson, Virginia.

In April, she made her first final at the MNO Tennis Series W35 in Boca Raton and qualified for her first W60 tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Most recently, she won two main draw matches to face the winner of the W100 tournament in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Last weekend, 𝗔𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗮 𝗨𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗯𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗪𝟲𝟬 𝗭𝗲𝗽𝗵𝘆𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀. ⁣𝟭𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 for qualifier Akasha URHOBO at the 𝗪𝟲𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝘇𝗲𝗽𝗵𝘆𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. ⁣She played the perfect week, 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 to defeat Kalieva (WTA214), Okalova (WTA534), Li (WTA187), Chang (WTA245) and Jovic (WTA509). ⁣

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂!!⁣

As a result, Akasha is rapidly rising through the ranks and has now broken into the top 500, currently top400.
