Following her great year on tour, and her results at the USTA Billie Jean King Girls' National Championship, Akasha was awarded a wild card for the main draw Junior US Open.
Tuesday Sept 4th, the battle was fierce on court 17 where Akasha and Mia Yamakita (USA) were opposed to the pair Anazagasty-Pursoo (USA)/Joint (Australia). They lost the 1st set 2-6 and came back at the tie break 7-6(3), to lose 8-10.
Monday Sept 3rd, the 2nd round was scheduled 3rd match after 11AM on court 13th. Akasha was opposed for the first time to the wild card Valerie Glozman (USA). Akasha lost the 1st set 6(4)-7 and didn't convert 7 set points in the 2nd set and lost 57. Now, let's focus on the doubles.
Sunday September 2nd, the 1st round was set against 5th seed Mayu Crossley from Japan on court 12 at 11 am EST. Sadly Crossley pulled out and was replaced by lucky looser Olivia Bergler. Akasha won her match at Flushing Meadows in 1 hour and 25 minutes 6-4, 7-6(4).
